International students are an increasingly important aspect of the tertiary student demographic, but more work needs to be done to develop appropriate strategies for their engagement and success. This session explores some ways in which institutions can make better use of approaches developed by Ako Aotearoa for enhancing student learning and how these are applicable in the international student context.
About Ako Aotearoa
Ako Aotearoa’s mission is to ensure the best possible outcomes for all students in New Zealand tertiary institutions. We support this aim by working with teachers and institutions to improve learning and teaching practices, through project co-funding, a wide range of professional learning and development workshops, and focusing on the importance of the student voice in tertiary curriculum, policy and governance processes.
