China has long been New Zealand’s most important sending market for international students. Indeed, in 2015 Chinese students comprised 27 percent of enrolments at New Zealand providers, a 13 percent increase on the previous year. Indications are that a similar level of growth occurred for 2016.
Significant societal changes have occurred across China in recent years. Fast changing demographics combined with technological innovations have changed the environment for marketers, including for student attraction.
