Breakout sessions

You do not need to register to attend breakout sessions this year. Breakout sessions will instead be filled on a first-in, first-served basis. Simply make your way to the breakout session before it starts to secure your seat.

With eight tracks on offer this year, there are lots of options in case you find a breakout session is full. If you find a breakout session is not quite what you were after, don’t hesitate to discreetly pop out and into another one.

Business Centre

The Business Services Desk is on Level 4 and open 9.00am – 5.00pm. Parking tickets can be validated here during opening hours.

All catering will be served in the Expo Hall on Level 4.

Chill Zones

If you want to get away from the crowd, we suggest the Mezzanine Floors in the Convention Centre. The Mezzanine Floors on Levels 4 and 5 provide quiet zones for reflection or work.

Coat and bag check

You can store your luggage and your coats at the Information Desk on Level 4. While every care will be taken, belongings are stored at your own risk.

Conference app

We have emailed registered delegates on how to download the conference app, along with their personal login details. The app includes a range of venue and conference information, allows you to save sessions of interest to your agenda, and enables you to connect with other attendees. We will also be sending any conference changes and notifications to the app.

Lost property

Please hand any lost property to the Registration Desk on Level 5.

Meeting Point

If you want to catch up with a fellow delegate, we suggest you meet at the NZIEC Meeting Point. The NZIEC Meeting Point is a clearly signposted spot outside the Expo Hall on Level 4. It’s a great place to connect before heading elsewhere to hold your meeting.

Meeting rooms

If you’d like a dedicated space for your meetings at conference, you may be able to book a temporary meeting room at the venue. We have a limited number of meeting rooms (without technology) which may be available to book for up to an hour. You can make bookings at the Information Desk on Level 4.

Meet Up sessions

Meet Up sessions are informal opportunities to connect with delegates during the networking breaks on particular issues or topics.

We have collated suggested topics for Meet Up sessions. Simply head along to the NZIEC Meeting Point at the allocated time and strike up a conversation with fellow delegates. The whole process is up to you; it will be over to you to strike up the connections and take the conversation where you want it.

Check the conference app for details on Meet Up sessions.

For security reasons, your conference nametag must be worn at all times.

Most breakout presentations will be made available at three weeks after conference. Note that some presenters may amend their presentations prior to public dissemination. Generally, any plenary presentations will not be available beyond conference.

Recharge Zones

This year we’re offering a range of recharge experiences for delegates. Details will be announced during the opening plenary.

Speaker Preparation Room

This is located in the Executive Boardroom on Level 5.

We intend to run NZIEC 2017 as close to time as possible. Please make every effort to be seated prior to the next breakout or plenary session starting. Keep an ear out for our unique notification of when the next session is about to start – it’s a Kiwi classic!

Toilets are located on the mezzanine floors on levels 4 and 5.

Instructions for joining the SkyCity Convention Centre wifi will be available at the Registration and Information Desks.
